It's an enormous spacious forecourt in the days when land prices in London were affordable - and one of several premises Oliver Cutts were operating in this era. In this era Shell and BP were still tied in a combined effort with National Benzole effectively under the control of BP by now so several brands appear on site. Below you can see a second image from around the same era.
