All New Robin Volume 1 #6
As the sun began to rise over Gotham, Tim sat in front of one of the holding cells in the Batcave. The spot had been taken up several months earlier by the Clown Prince of Crime himself, but now actor Markus Lovadina sat in a daze on the cold ground. With the device still implanted in his face Lovadina could not see, and after several moments of screaming while scrambling around the cell Tim managed to calm the man down. Hearing Bruce and Alfred approach however, Tim activated a soundproof wall around the cell, which also acted as a one way mirror for the those outside. Turning to face Alfred and the unmasked, still injured Bruce, Tim asked,
“Did Al fill you in?”
“He did. And I connected the dots for some the information we have on Weston right now. Panessa’s one of several movie studios in the Gotham area with Le Spectacle being the largest. I can’t keep the Batwing off its course whilst tracking the crimson assassin, but if it catches anything off while over those buildings we’ll be the first to know.” Bruce replied, attempting to move his arm and wincing in the process.
“Good. But at the same time…Weston most likely won’t be at the studios. He talked to me over the communication systems in Panessa. We need to find him before he sets up another scene in another studio or else we risk another actor being injured.” Tim explained as Bruce nodded,
“My full efforts are focused on the March case as of now, and the way I see it the sooner you wrap up this case with Weston the sooner we can double our efforts to catch the assassin…which is why I’m going to ask Jason to investigate the dealer in New Carthage.” Tim was shocked as his mentor said this,
“Bruce…this is my case. If this was yours you wouldn’t leave it up to anyone else…you’re doing it now with the March case!” Tim froze after saying this, realizing his voice had been raised for the last bit and his right hand was clenched into a fist. Lowering it, he looked down ashamedly while saying, “I’m sorry…it’s just been Steph…then my dad’s back in town…” Thinking for a moment, Alfred turned to Bruce, saying,
“Perhaps, sir, it would be best for Tim to go himself. Spend the day in New Carthage to have some breathing room.” Resting his chin on his good hand, Bruce thought for a moment before saying,
“I understand…But I need you Tim. Just be back as soon as possible, the crimson assassin could strike at anytime and I’ll need you in the field if he does. Not to mention if Weston decides to begin his onslaught earlier in the day.” Beginning to walk towards the vehicle depot, Tim said,
“I won’t let you down Bruce. I’ll be back sooner than you know it…” Then turning his attention to Alfred, he said, “Al, send the coordinates to the Robin-cycle!”
“Taking a land-based vehicle will waste too much time,” Bruce explained as he looked to the other vehicles nearby, “…take the Batcopter, there’s a stealth mode you can activate…just bring it home in one piece.” Already excitedly beside the flying machine, Tim smirked, saying,
“Thank you!” Before climbing into the cockpit, activating the stealth mode and lifting off. Once again connecting his wrist device to the Batcopter’s mainframe, he was able to program the autopilot. As the vehicle began its predestined course, Tim watched Bruce and Alfred disappear from view, soon followed by the Batcave and Wayne Manor as he found himself over the Gotham River before exiting the city.
