Brtnice in Moravia in the Czech Republic. The theme for the book. Tragedy! Brtnice built the Waldstein family. Everywhere is their coat of arms. Zdeněk Brtnický of the Waldstein family was arrested in 1621 and died in Spielberg prison in 1623. The estate was then auctioned. The castle and land bought the Italian war genus Collalto et San Salvatore. Brtnice then developed very much. Many have been here built! The beautiful times ended in 1946.
