Scarce Large Blue
Wát een geluk! Zonder hoge verwachtingen reed ik naar de enige plek in Nederland waar je het Pimpernelblauwtje kunt spotten. Ik was er al een paar keer eerder geweest, toen helaas geen vlinder, maar ik kwam wel terug met heel veel muggenbulten. Nu, om zeven uur ‘s ochtends, kwam ik aan op de locatie. Er is één veldje waar je heel dichtbij kan komen, maar dat wel is afgeschermd. Maar dicht bij de rand zat er één! En ik had alle tijd, want de vlinder was nog niet opgewarmd en kon nog niet vliegen. Eindelijk een scherpe foto van het pimpernelblauwtje, zelfs met dauwdruppels!
Talk about luck! Without any high expectations I drove to the only place in the Netherlands where you can spot the scarce large blue. I had been there a few times before, but unfortunately no butterfly, only a lot of mosquito bites. Now, at seven in the morning, I arrived at the location. There is one field where you can get very close, but it is fenced. But close to the edge there was one! And I had plenty of time, because the butterfly hadn't warmed up yet. Finally a sharp picture of the scarce large blue, with an absolute bonus: dew drops!
