Ludwigsburg Palace

Ludwigsburg, Germany

Construction started on the palace in 1704 and it was completed in 1733. At 32 hectares, it is the largest palace estate in Germany.

This is a front view of the 452-room palace complex. It is one of the largest Baroque buildings in Europe to survive in its original condition.

Duke Frederick II, who later became King Frederick I, used the palace as his summer residence during his reign. Not a bad summer house!
