Red Fody (foudia madagascariensis)

Victoria National Botanical Gardens

The Red Fody is a sparrow-like weaver found in virtually all habitats of the Seychelles except the thick forest. Breeding males have scarlet red back and belly.

The Seychelles was a great place to visit. There is not a wide variety of bird species there, but it has about 13 species not found anywhere else in the world. The giant Seychelles Fruit Bats were also fun to observe.
