Marblehead Lighthouse

Still an active aid to navigation on Lake Erie, the lighthouse was first operated in 1821 and has been in continuous operation longer than any lighthouse on the Great Lakes. The tower is 50 feet (16 meters) tall, 25 feet wide at the base and 12 feet wide at the top. The adjacent Keeper's House was constructed in 1880 and is maintained by the Ohio Dept of Natural Resources and the Marblehead Lighthouse Historic Society. The property became an Ohio State Park in 1998.
