Guiding ships into New York Harbor... At almost 200 feet above sea level, the Navesink Light Station, also know as Twin Lights, is positioned as one of the highest points on the Atlantic Coast. Advances in navigation technology made the Twin Lights obsolete so they were turned off in 1949.
