Mayfield explodes
Being 6 feet away from the firecrackers as they explode at Mayfield Bonfire in Sussex. This is part of the Sussex bonfire season that builds up throughout September and October before the main event at Lewes in November.
The celebrations mark both Guy Fawkes Night and the burning of 17 Protestant martyrs in Lewes' High Street from 1555 to 1557, during the reign of Mary Tudor.
