Heat through feets - The Lost Water
The Lost water, 45 mints. documentary film based on inhuman condition of salt workers who are known as 'Agariyas' in little Rann of Kutch (LRK) of Gujarat, India. The Government of Gujarat has consistently ignored the LRK area. Salt workers (Agariyas) are susceptible to serious physical and mental health hazards. Kharaghoda village itself is home to 437 widows. They work in extreme hot and cold conditions, without any safety kits. Many Agariyas have suffered major health complications, including blindness and skin damage due to unprotected exposure to salt. Green vegetables are not available in this area, leading to several instances of malnutrition. Aghariyas, who live in abject poverty, are also victims of wage discrimination. Agariyas are working today as bonded laborers. The LRK area has been designated as a Wild Life Sanctuary and due to it salt workers and almost 70% edible salt production of Gujarat state have become illegal on their forefather’s land.
