Town Hall Extension, Manchester
While Eddie and Mark continued shooting trams I went to the arches of the town hall. Every Manchester photographer has snapped these at some point along with the two red phone boxes at the end. The cliché shot is along the corridor with either the lamp bulbs illuminated or shadows crossing the walkway from the outward facing arches. However, this is now a place of refuge for the homeless and several had already bedding down for the night. I didn't think it right to capture someone else's misfortune so I angled my camera up to frame just the ceiling lamps.
