Dunvegan Castle (Explore 22/10/18 #16)
Dunvegan, Isle of Skye, Scotland
After a hearty breakfast at the B&B, we headed back down for a second shoot at Eilean Castle. The conditions hadn't improved from the early morning shoot, in fact, they were getting worse - a completely blank drizzle affected sky so a couple of grab shots for the record - been there, shot it, t-shirt shrank in the rain, and we were on our way to Skye.
First stop off... the Skye bridge, didn't really float my boat if I'm honest and I like bridges. As Mrs R eloquently put it - underwhelming, which somehow became the word of the week, especially if you're not a walker, climber or photographer!
But have no fear the next bridge at Sligachan is the one.
Queue disappointment... the drizzle had followed us all the way, couldn't see a single mountain in the distance and worst of all every shot ruined by rain drops. All the more frustrating since I'd donned my wellies especially for a few river shots.
I don't really know why I'm telling you all this except to say two hours later the river Sligachan was a raging torrent and river shots were definitely out of the question. If you're on Instagram check out daveevansphotography and the video clip he shot just after we passed through.
What I'm tryng to say is our first day on Skye was a total washout and I've got nothing to post of any merit so here's to the next day and a morning trip to Dunvegan Castle. It's still raining and Mrs R is on brolly duties again - bless her!
On a positive note, they have excellent car parking facilities and a cafe here.
