It's been a long time since I posted an illuminated architectural shot from the Quays, in fact, not since I met up with fellow Flickrites - Mark & Gary Waidson and Geoff Moore way back in March of this year for an early morning shoot.
This was taken during my second visit to the Lightwaves illuminations. I'm actually stood next to two giant spacemen, four daleks and the TARDIS, but the Lowry proved to be far more colourful and interesting to photograph. I've never taken a shot from this side (MediaCity square), nor seen the theatre in these colours before. The construction work on the left side is going to be a new cocktail bar and restaurant under "The Alchemist" brand and is to be called "The Bund". It will also block the view of the Detroit bridge in Dock 9 but may have some interesting illuminations all of its own... I'll be back to check!
