Light My Fire
This group of lilies set against a backdrop of a brown house wall caught my eye. I like the contrast of the orange against the brown and wanted to capture that somehow. But sometimes, too much sunlight can wash a scene out, and the photo in its original form didn't reflect the contrast that I saw.
So I played with the brightness in post-production processing, to get the brown background to the shade I saw, but in adjusting the brightness I was struck by what happened when I made it totally dark. I like the effect of the light "coming from" the lilies against the blackness.
So, photo isn't as originally seen/scene, but manipulated as one might with an art canvas. The resulting image "says" something of the flowers being stars on a stage comes to mind. A metaphor for something in Life.....
