L’ensemble commémoratif Pahlavan Mahmoud fut bâti autour de la sépulture du grand poète et éclaireur, soufi et philosophe Pahlavan Mahmoud (1247-1326). Celui-ci, fourreur de son état, était aussi un lutteur hors pair et un grand guerrier. Il est considéré comme le saint patron de la ville.
The Pahlavan Mahmud Memorial Complex was built around the tomb of the great poet, enlightener, Sufi, and philosopher Pahlavan Mahmud (1247–1326). A furrier by trade, he was also an outstanding wrestler and a great warrior. He is considered the city's patron saint.
