A friendly herd of curious cows lives adjacent to Castle Fraser, and comes to the fence to say hello. I'm guessing that they may be polled herefords. I learned that aIl bovines have mandatory registration in the UK and their movement is tracked from birth to death with ear tags and individual passports to control spread of disease.
