Great eyelashes
Southern Ground Hornbills are the only birds with eyelashes and their beautiful long curly black lashes are to die for! The bare red patches around their eyes and the long lashes protect their eyes from dust as they scrabble around on the ground. A breeding project for this endangered species is established at the Mabula Private Game Reserve, Limpopo, South Africa.
