Compassionate Buddha

A rainy day profile of one of the many compassionate Buddha (Lokesvara) faces carved into Prasat Bayon (Bayon Temple), Angkor Thom, Cambodia. The images, also called 'smiling Buddhas' are thought to be of King Jayavarman VII; Bayon, built in the late 12th century, was his official state temple. Angkor Thom is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
