Forest giant

Meares Island, near Tofino, British Columbia, is home to some virigin north temperate rainforest containing giant Western red cedar tree, some over 1000 years old. They are challenging to photograph to convey the full size and impact of these giants. The only way to photograph this giant was to get right up near the base of the tree and point the camera (wide angle on a tripod) straight up.
