Portfolio Fine Art

by irisGx

The main themes of my project are the organic and graphic forms, the cells, the human body and the work of colours and materials.

Firstly in my initial portfolio, I presented some sketches from my sketchbook that I take everywhere and where I express my imagination.

After, I showed some of my paintings including two where I worked a grainy texture and a line drawn while in others, I used more coarse features and materials.

I was inspired by Muriel Nisse and Nobuyoshi Araki to take pictures of a woman. I wrapped her body with ribbons as if they transformed her as object. Actually, these ribbons are very precious to me. Insofar, my mother had brought them to me from Japan and they have always fascinated me. I decided it was time to give them a role. Also, I always wanted to make human body’s photo and naked skin, so I married both.

Moreover, Natacha Lesueur and Marlene Dumas inspired me to do abstract portraits with very coloured spots inks. It was a good discovery for me. I loved this technic because it is very random and I can worked on transparency and colours.
To continue my trials with ink, I did series of cells with coloured ink and black Indian ink. I tried to work on the larger formats with strange species very colourful. Heather Veltman was my inspiration.

I wanted to show that I try to develop each of my ideas in different ways and technicals.
