A Packhorse Bridge
A packhorse bridge is a bridge intended to carry packhorses (horses loaded with sidebags or panniers) across a river or stream.
When the Errwood Reservoir was built , the hamlet's iconic Packhorse Bridge was removed stone by stone and reconstructed over the River Goyt in 1960 at a point in the valley above and beyond the reservoirs.
