Contemplating Clancy (#2):

________________________________________________

(Sound of Clancy sighing)

Dad?

"Hmmm."

Dad.

(Sound of Dad's newspaper)

"What is it, Clancy?"

Dad, why is the sky blue?

"Haha. Well, the sky is blue as a result of the

scattering of light rays which reflect the

blue end of the spectrum. It's fascinating, really."

Uh huh. And why do baby deer have spots?

"They're an environmental, hereditary, camouflagic

protection. Mother Nature protecting her young,

so to speak. She's quite amazing, don't you think?"

You bet. And how do birds fly?

"Their wing shapes give them lift and their

flapping gives them momentum. The natural world,

my boy, is truly awesome!"

Wow, sure is. Hey, wanna go outside again?

"Outside? You know, that sounds like a great idea.

Let's go!"

(Clancy, thinking)

Heh heh, like taking treats from a puppy.
