My work is inspired by "cura personalis," or care for the whole person, a philosophy that emphasizes tending to both body and spirit. In this collection, the sunflower represents not only the state of Kansas but also the accolades we’ve earned as the state’s premiere health system. Just as a sunflower seeks light, we grow and flourish when we nurture all aspects of ourselves. Through this imagery, I invite viewers to reflect on the importance of cultivating personal wellness with intention and care, recognizing that health is not static but an ongoing, holistic process.
