Crochet using Caron Simply Soft yarn
My mother taught me how to crochet when I was a child, and one of my recurring memories is her sitting in her armchair with one of her blankets across her lap, stitching away. I went several years where I didn't make anything until this past year, when, surrounded by random skeins of yarn I'd picked up over the years because I love yarn and all its possibility, my husband suggested I make a stash blanket and use some of it up. The minute I picked up my crochet hook - an old blue metal hook that belonged to my mother, I was, well, hooked. Every time I sit in my armchair by the window and start crocheting, I'm immediately reminded of my mother doing the same. This is my second blanket, made for my friend's 5-year-old son who has outgrown his handmade baby blankets.
