This year, I entered a new era of life as I started medical school and moved into a new house. I was very excited about having a yard, and even purchased a birdbath. I found myself spending more and more time at the windowsill, trying to catch a glimpse of the birds that came by. As the temperatures begin to drop, I can’t help but wonder what kind of birds will come with the winter. ‘Autumn Chickadee’ is my most recent painting, and it captures the transition into the colder months and the grand possibilities that lie ahead.
