Butterflies

This is a very special baby quilt I made especially for a friend of my daughter-in-law’s in California that I have become very close. In the picture at the lower right of the quilt is a picture of mom, dad, grandmother and newborn “Eden”. The grandmother had cancer and died a few weeks after Eden was born and I thought I would make a special baby quilt with butterflies. The quilt pattern are with butterflies and on the outer edge are prairie points (loose triangles) on the quilt was another special touch I did for Eden to play with while on the quilt. During the stay home order, I have been able to find more time for quilting and sewing as well as time with my grandchildren, the time I used to spend traveling to and from work is now spent more meaningfully. I have been more selective on my projects and trying new and different patterns, challenging my sewing skills. I now have my home office in my sewing room which gives me more privacy to do both!
