'Twas Once A Happy Home

I spotted this wonderful old country shack from the road while driving into Linville, a small community in the Somerset region of Queensland, northwest of Brisbane.

I quickly did a U-turn, as I love photographing abandoned and dilapidated buildings such as this ... and I know my mum also loves them, and enjoys to paint such scenes. (She's where my creative eye comes from.)

Although among my limited-edition releases, this shot - which required very carefully walking through long, dry grass while on high alert for any sign of a snake - is essentially for her.

She has print No.1 of 12 hanging on her wall.
