Forest Lace
This is a VINTAGE Japanese lace Iromuji. Iromuji are semi-formal kimono that can be worn by both married and unmarried women. They are characterized as being entirely one colour with either very fine, or no patterns. I believe this piece originates in the Showa (1926 - 1989) or Heisei Period (1989 - present) This kimono is made from an enchanting lace, for summer wear, or for layering over other garments. The colour is best represented in the detail photos. I have shown it paired with another kimono from my shop as well, but this listing is only for the green iromuji.
I have inspected this kimono in detail and there is minimal damage; only one noticeable stain as can be seen in the photos above. Overall, I would rate this kimono in excellent vintage condition. There are no tears, holes or seam separations. I am uncertain if this garment is made with silk or synthetics.
MEASUREMENTS:
Length: 150cm
Arm Span: 124cm
Width Across Back: 59cm
Total Width of Skirt: 133cm
Sleeve Drop: 48cm
SIZING
If you are unsure of how to interpret the kimono's size it is important to know that the length (collar - hem) should be approximately 10cm longer to 10cm shorter than the wearer's overall height (longer is better). This is because the excess length will be folded up at the waist. Meanwhile, the skirt should wrap around the hips a full 1.5 times. The armspan should also reach wrist to wrist on the wearer. In this case, the kimono will ideally fit a woman about 140cm (4'7") - 160cm (5'3") tall, with hips about 89cm (35") around. There is some give and take in these measurements though.
