American Chestut Snag -- Joyce Kilmer Trail -- Cook Forest PA

This tree was killed by the chestnut blight that hit PA in the 1920's. The CCC, the Civilian Conservation Corps, salvaged some of these dead trees in the park to build the cabins and shelters here.
