Ram Falls
Kodak Tri-X Pan 320, 4" x 5", 320 iso, Normal development in PMK developer, 9:35 minutes, 20C [68F]. Taken October 2012, Ebony SV45TE. Fujinon W 125mm.
Ram Falls, Clearwater County, Alberta.
The idiotic Alberta Provincial Government rescinded a decades old policy that prevented coal mining in the Eastern Slopes of the Rocky Mountains. This was slipped through without consultation, on a Friday before the May long weekend, in the middle of a pandemic. An open pit coal mine is now under development in the mountains visible in the background of this image. Not only will this permanently destroy a pristine landscape, it will also compromise the Ram River. This river is prime habitat for the at risk Bull Trout, and also feeds the water supply of more than a million residents downstream.
