Thunderbolts #131 - Variant Edition (April 2009)

This issue is part 4 of 4 of the Magnum Opus Story Arc.

It takes place directly after the events of Deadpool #9 where Taskmaster, disguised as Deadpool was captured by the Thunderbolts. Keep in mind that this story Arc takes place while Taskmaster is heading the Initiative directly under Norman Orsborn, the very same person who is after Deadpool's head... not a good time to be disguised as Deadpool actually...

I enjoyed this story arc partly for Andy Diggle's writing and partly for Bong Dazo's art. The writing portrayed Taskmaster's skills quite well and with a bit of humor, while the art, though very nice and colorful, had confusing panels. So while both art and writing lacked by just a little, it was funny enough and nice enough on the eyes for me to enjoy.

Taskmaster gets a good share of pages that show just how bad ass he is. Taskmaster performs a noteworthy feat for his character bio in this issue, able to fight the Thunderbolts alongside Deadpool while armed with nothing more than the very chains they used to restrain him. The fun in this issue comes from how much action was packed into it.
