All New Captain America #2 (Dec 2014)

The issue starts with another page from Sam Wilsons childhood, recalling his father's murder. That then quickly cuts to the events of the moment. Sam and Ian find themselves in the middle of a two against everyone else brawl with Baron Zemo's squad of villains, while trying to protect a special teen that they rescued in the last issue.

Ian forces Sam to escape with the kid while he attempts to hold everyone off. A crash through the window later, and Sam discovers that for some weird reason they are in the villain run country, Bagalia..., Sam also quickly finds out that the kid; Lucas, was not actually a hostage, but was a willing member of Hydra, and an inhuman on top of that!

Things go south for Sam very quickly when Lucas shoots him in the shoulder, while Crossbones is hot on his trail.

Two issues in and I find myself enjoying this comic for more than just Taskmaster's appearances in them. I already find the art appealing to begin with, but then just like in the last issue (Where Sam faced off against Batroc the leaper) - this time we are treated to a nice fight between him and Crossbones. A very significant reference to both characters facing off in this year's Captain America the Winter Soldier movie. Speaking of which, Misty Knight makes a special appearance in this issue to reveal a very interesting plot that REALLY mirrors the situation in the movie. It gets me curious to see where all this is going.

The only thing that confuses me is when this should be happening in the 616 timeline in relation to the on-going AXIS event in Marvel. But that aside, like in issue one, the Comic is structured in such a away that we first get a piece of Sam's origin, then we see an overview of the on going story arc, then we are treated to a nice fight with the villain of the day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for when he faces off against Taskmaster. It'll be sad tho - because i intend to skip any of the issues where he wont be appearing.
