Class 220 Voyager

Built to replace HST's and locomotive hauled trains on the Cross Country network, these 4 coach Voyager Diesel Electric Multiple Units operate some of the longest journeys in the UK. 34 units in total were built and have a max speed of 125 mph plus each coach is powered by a Cummins Cummins QSK19 engine with each unit have a total of 3000 bhp.
Not being designed to tilt, they have different bogies to their Class 221 Super Voyager cousins. Initially, their 4 coach length along with more services on the Cross Country network was ok but rapid passenger growth resulted in them being overcrowded. Hope you enjoy this album.
