Sometimes there's luck involved. What this picture doesn't show is the determination and drive to succeed. To find something indescribable, and then make an attempt at giving it a description with a photograph. But of course this doesn't give a full story. Scouting this location we found it to be ideal perhaps for reflections, and the composition seemed nice. We weren't sure the weather would be with us.
Hoping around during the day we found a few locations around hood that seemed promising. In the end, we ended up here watching the low fog and high clouds roll through for almost 12 straight hours. How could we leave with such a beautiful and ever changing view rolling through as we sat.
Jimmy Mcintyre apparently got the memo as well, we sat and shot sunset with him here at this spot. Then drove over to lost lake to find it completely socked in. After coming back here, I pulled out my sleeping bag and fell asleep right on the beach where this shot is taken from for a couple hours. Occasionally pushing the shutter on my camera as I woke up confirming everything was still spectacular. Then we watched the sunrise here, and moved on.
Single shot on the d810, 24mm @ F1.4, 20 seconds, ISO1600.
