SET 3 – Goodman/Getwell Kroger, Post-Remodel
Taking a more drawn-back view of the bakery, we see in the foreground a couple of low-height refrigerated cases full of deli goods, the right-hand one of which also features Kroger’s new “Discover Local” imaging. Not sure if that’s a chainwide thing or just a Delta Division thing, but it has popped up in just about every store I’ve been in in the last few years. I like it, even though it does look a tiny bit cheesy.
I talked over it in the last description, but if you flip back to that for a second, you’ll see that the extreme close-up of the “BAKERY” lettering allows us a really good look at the construction of the department signage for this décor package. Given the way décor pieces seem to be made these days, I’m not sure if that’s real wood or just wood-look material, but in particular the roughness of the sides of the letters as well as the unfinished (that is, not painted white) portions of the sign ledge really make me lean more towards it being the former – which is rather interesting, I think.
