SET 4 – Oxford Kroger, 2020 Remodel/Expansion
Across from the register/front end work, more construction was underway – and this work was particularly interesting! It’s not super obvious from this image, but this enclosure conceals the decommissioned, former deli-bakery service island. You can just barely make out the purple underside of the start of the deli department there near the upper left of the shot.
Quite clearly from all the equipment stored in there, this area was being used as a bit of a hub for all of the construction work. It was neat to look in there and see the remnants of the deli, bakery, and café, but I could only do that briefly due to the workers who were moving in and out of here. That same reason is why I didn’t want to push my luck any further in trying to get a better photo. I still think this one is pretty neat on its own, however.
