WEEK 42 – Spirit Halloween (fmr Books-a-Million), Southaven, MS (II)
Spirit has many departments for basically any type of costume theme you can think of – “empire” and “steampunk” are the two that we see in the foreground here. The one I took this picture for, though, is the elaborate “‘20s” one seen along that pegboard wall, calling to mind the glitz and glamour of those famously “roaring” days. What I’m not sure about is whether this is a department Spirit has every year, or if it was new for 2020… I kinda like to think the latter is true, just because of the coolness factor of a return to the 1920s in the 2020s that that would indicate. It would also go well, for example, with my theory that some of Kroger’s 2020-era Urban Mix décor is inspired at least somewhat by the 1920s.
