Old Cart Corral

WEEK 43 – Cordova Super Target Final Day, Set I

Here’s a close-up shot of one of the cart corrals in the parking lot. It features a newer circular cart icon, but the corral itself is old, with that squared-off, gray metal design; and in fact, as we saw in Sunday's teaser photo, these corrals originally had different posters within the metal bars, something I was not aware of. I’m assuming that that photo, which sadly is undated, in fact dates back to shortly after this store’s opening, which took place in October 2003. (It lasted, therefore, 15 years and 3 months before closure. It would have marked its 16th anniversary this month, had it stayed open.)

Speaking of Sunday’s teaser photo… as many of y’all noticed, my attempt to capitalize on what otherwise has been an unfortunate situation for me – that is, flickr not alerting y’all to my new uploads when I upload them first as private and then later switch them to public – backfired heavily, lol, with flickr using reverse psychology and actually doing exactly that (for once!). As a result, the teaser image got way more attention and comments than I expected; but I explicitly said in the instructions that whoever was first to comment and tell me this would be our destination for the weeks ahead would get recognition this week, and holding true to that, I must send a shout-out to one Mr. PlazaACME of Philadelphia, PA. Congrats! (But seriously though, thanks everyone else for all of your comments as well…)

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
