What’s hot is way cool

WEEK 35 – Toys “R” Us Closing, Columbia, SC (I)

Carrying on (relevant phrase, since Welcome to the Black Parade has been stuck in my head the entire time I’ve been writing these descriptions), we’ll wrap up this week with our first look into the salesfloor proper. I was a little confused by this TRU’s layout when visiting, but if I’m not mistaken, this is in fact a normal setup for older Toys “R” Us stores; like I said, I’m simply not overly familiar with the chain.

Anyway, it’s laid out to where, upon entering, you’re more or less corralled through a few sets of horizontal, short-height aisles – i.e. the ones you see here – before you can actually make it through to the bulk of the salesfloor. The aisles look very well-stocked in my photo here, but that’s simply because the remaining merchandise had been consolidated up toward the front; as we’ll see when our stour continues two weeks from now, the story isn’t exactly the same for the rest of the salesfloor…

NEXT WEEK – a very delayed photoset for which my complete untimeliness in uploading all but confirms why I should never bother photographing construction or remodels, but which may, surprisingly, turn out to be arbitrarily, marginally timely, after all. …Maybe. (You be the judge.)

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
