I really like the way the pancake mix boxes at the bottom left are designed to line up perfectly with one another
WEEK 28 – Oxford Millennium Kroger, Revisited (II)
(cont.) …but also with several additional local flair pics, as can be seen in this view, which peers straight down Aisle 1 towards the front of the store.
I find it interesting to note here that approximately half of the gondola dividing both of the first two aisles houses weekly sale items – not interesting in the sense that those items are being stocked, as that’s a common thing at Kroger; but rather, interesting in that the sale items are simply in that particular spot. You’ll note that neither aisle sign promotes “Weekly Specials,” either.
That said, I’m used to the setup in newer Krogers like the Hernando Marketplace, and older Krogers like Stateline, that face the weekly sale items right out to the perishables grand aisle, from a tiny unsigned aisle. Even the old Hernando millennium store had a little unsigned half-aisle that fed into Aisle 1 to meet this purpose. Maybe the setup we’re seeing here in Oxford is actually common to stores of this era, and I just haven’t encountered it before. Does anyone have any input or knowledge to confirm or deny that? (e.g. l_dawg2000, concerning the Getwell store pre-expansion?)
More from here in two weeks! Until then, next week – the Columbus Klosing continues…

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
