WEEK 41 – Wolfchase Sears Closing, Set IX (UL)

My breath on that last description totally wasted, we’ll wrap up today with one more look at that corner just ahead, which also happens to be home to the store’s elevator (as evidenced by the nice, convenient “elevator” sign there. Lovely how that works out). The tiny alcove headed out of view on the left of this frame was yet another depository of disused fixtures – including the pile of floor mats that I used waaaaay back in January to tease this whole stour! – while more immediately to my left was the bedding and bath department, which somehow it appears I completely neglected to photograph. Maybe because it had actual aisles, and thus looked relatively normal compared to the rest of the place?! Who knows, lol :P In any case, I’ll leave y’all today with a link over to l_dawg2000’s Wolfchase Sears albums (plural!), since he did happen to capture a few pics of those aisles to make up for my shortcomings. As a reminder, l_dawg also toured the other Memphis Sears, over at Southland Mall in Whitehaven, which I didn’t visit at all; you can view that album of his here. Both Memphis Sears stores closed during former parent company Sears Holdings’ 2018 bankruptcy, with the Wolfchase store closing up shop on January 6th, 2019 (the sale having begun on October 27th of last year), and the Whitehaven store following suit on January 27th.

Robby and John just picked “Closing Time” by Semisonic, which is perfectly appropriate as I close out today’s photoset! Join me next week – more from Lowe's Foods

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
