Happy 20th, HLT!
Visited the birthday store today! Truth be told, I would’ve completely forgotten about this anniversary were it not for an annual phone calendar alert that I set myself… yes, I’m a dork XD Anyway, the Horn Lake Target is officially 20 years old today – very cool! I was thinking about that earlier, and came to the conclusion that 20 years of continual operation in the same location is a pretty impressive feat for a big box store, so this is definitely a noteworthy accomplishment. (Not to mention that 20 years with minimal changes is even rarer…!)
Today was a brutally cold, windy, cloudy day here in the Mid-South, but the sun came out exactly as I was taking this picture, so I thought that was really nice :) I always love shopping at this store; it’s one of my favorites. I hope Target stays in Horn Lake for a long time. And to that end, hopefully all the growth currently taking place in HL is a good sign: discovered over the past week that the city is getting two brand-new, ground-up restaurants in Bojangles (first modern-day Memphis-area location) and Freddy’s, the latter of which will occupy an outparcel to this very Target store. Exciting times, for sure. And absolutely worth celebrating, I say!
