Hernando Shell, pre-remodel (and at night!)
Time for a special remodel set today! Have y’all ever experienced that phenomenon where someplace you frequent begins remodeling, and you frantically look through your archives to see if you have any photos of the place from beforehand, and are distraught to find you’ve got nothing? If not… I envy you. This thing seems to happen to me fairly often. Sometimes, I get word of the remodel with enough time to grab some new pics, as was the case with the Hernando Walmart in 2016. (Although that’s not the best example since I did have some photos in my archive for that store… but I was able to fill in what I didn’t have upon learning that a remodel was impending.) Other times, I find it’s too little, too late, as was the case with the Hdo McDonald's remodel… or the Hdo Pizza Hut closure… or the Horn Lake neon Kroger remodel.
I was faced yet again with the latter scenario as I discovered on February 2nd that the Hernando Shell station had begun a remodel. This night shot from October 2015 is the only thing I could find in my archives that acts as a comprehensive “before” photo of the station. Thankfully, it’s not a bad photo at all, in that I actually managed to capture the entire station in the frame (instead of cutting half of it out or something like that). And with a little help of my built-in photo editor on my laptop, I was able to get the quality of the shot looking much better, too.
