Moving right into the action now, here’s a shot of the station as seen from the eastbound side of Commerce on Friday, February 2nd, 2018. As best as I can tell, this is the very day that the remodel began.
Before taking this shot, we actually were heading across town – say, 30 minutes or so prior. We passed the station, but I didn’t have my phone out to take any photos since I couldn’t tell any activity was taking place as I approached from the west: we’ll see why in a moment. But I can say that, on that original pass-by, the old “Shell” wordmark and associated yellow paneling was still up on this left side of the canopy. Its removal took place while we were on the other side of town taking care of whatever it was we were doing. By the time we wrapped things up and drove back toward home, this was all that remained… so in effect, I missed the action :/
