10th Annual WMC Action News 5 Holiday Food Drive
Also today, you’ll see that I have much more than my usual lone teaser upload! I’ll tell you why in the next description, but first I wanted to dedicate this one to commemorating WMC Action News 5’s 10th annual (!) Holiday Food Drive benefitting the Mid-South Food Bank. Besides this being a great cause, I always enjoy watching the live shots at the six Kroger/Walmart locations around the area every year to see what fun stuff the Action News 5 personalities are getting into! Some of the usual highlights include seeing former WMC personality/current mayor of Covington Justin Hanson make an appearance, as well as (even post-retirement) Chief Meteorologist Emeritus Dave Brown (and for several of the ten years, Sister Myotis along with him!) Pictured above are (Ole Miss grad!) Sudu Upadhyay and Felicia Bolton at the Bartlett Walmart (same one l_dawg2000 posted some photos of just today). Of course, I’m in Oxford so I can’t make it, but I hope other locals can and do!
In other WMC Action News 5…news, Chief Consumer Investigator Andy Wise has announced that he’s leaving Memphis to fulfill his and his wife’s lifelong dream of living on a beach in Florida; his last day at the station will be next Friday, December 15th, with the whole week dedicated to looking back on his past two decades in Memphis (10 years at Channel 3 and 10 at Channel 5). His wife is a teacher, so they’ve actually already moved; they sold their house in June, and she’s been down there teaching, so he’s been living with someone else and has only seen her a few times since then, so I’m sure he’s eager to finally "run" down there and exit the TV news business. However, he did say he’ll still be returning to the Mid-South regularly, as part of a new commercial endorsement venture for local TV, radio, and print called “Wise Choices” where he’ll highlight brands and companies that he’s vetted in the past and which pass his criteria for consumer protection. Good luck, Andy!

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
