Temporary Café Setup
Remodel, Week 19
(cont.) ...so I'll tell you! Sam's couldn't just shut down the café entirely, so what they did instead was reduce it to a very bare-bones operation. That tiny temporary counter you see in this shot is the entirety of the café kitchen; they're serving exclusively hot dogs for the time being. Even the old drink machines (which would have been where the current temp counter is) are gone – they're reduced to serving canned Cokes, haha!
For those members who may have been wanting some sort of other food option, such as pizza, my “Samsple contact” told me that they (that is, the sample crew) were going to do a pizza sample pretty much every day until such time as the café is able to reopen, and moreover, that they aren't allowed to limit the number of pizza samples a customer takes – even if other people are standing in line behind him/her, which seems quite rude, honestly! But I guess it is what it is...
Also in this view (which was actually taken on October 28th), you can see that the café tables have been placed more tightly together due to the limited space. You'd think that would be okay, since surely less people would be eating at the café with the severely limited menu, but from what I've seen this still hasn't stopped people from getting their Sam's cafe fix, haha!
On the left of the shot, affixed to the remodel wall, you can see the poster advertising the new café coming soon. (A bit unfortunate that I captured that parent by the trash can in that position, but on the bright side, they made it to where I could photograph the poster without anyone blocking it XD )
As of today (November 20th), the café remains under construction, and I imagine that it won't be back until after Thanksgiving at this point.

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
