WEEK 38.2 – Retail 'round Hernando
Across the street from the BankPlus, however, still is a gas station! Hernando's Exxon is the only gas station on 'gas row' that's on this side of the interstate. (For comparison, the abandoned station, as well as Shell and Kroger Fuel, are on this side of the road, and Mobil on the other, across the bridge. Walmart's Murphy Fuel station is along McIngvale, not Commerce.) The attached convenience store, Tiger Mart, is adjoined by a former Huddle House turned something or other turned F. Bento Japanese (the most recent inhabitant). In the background, you can see the brick expansion of the tiny medical clinic, as well as the abandoned hotel of many names.
