The blade of the weapon aimed at his midsection. They thought Morita side-stepping them was likely, so they would catch themselves and guard if it occurred.
Morita inhaled deep as he did, indeed, side-step. However, instead of retaliating with an attack, he grabbed the spear's handle and yanked it away harshly from Fortune in an attempt to disarm them.
