Snibston Mine

In rather appropriate murky conditions, William Bagnall 0-4-0ST works number 2648 built in 1941 heads a demonstration coal train away from Snibston Mine, Coalville, during a photographic charter on 14th May 2010. Now at the Chasewater Railway, the Bagnall was one of a batch of nine supplied to the Ministry of Supply for shunting at various Royal Ordnance Factories. She was subsequently sold to the Dunlop Rubber Co. and was their No.6 at Fort Dunlop works at Erdington. (I have taken the liberty of digitally removing the vacuum brake pipes).
