Bw Hohenbudberg
A Sunday afternoon visti, on 7th May 1972, to Bw.Hohenbudberg in the Ruhr area, produced sixteen class 050 2-10-0s with just one in steam. Peeping through the doors of the through-road design shed (Rechteckschuppen) were Class 050 (Baureihe 050) 2-10-0s Nos. 051 864-7 and 051 493-4. Despite appearances, steam lasted at this depot for a further17 months.
The last class 50 to carry the Bw.Hohenbudberg shed allocation plaque was withdrawn from Bw Neuss on 30th September 1973, and so
steam came to an end at Hohenbudberg. The following year steam was totally eradicated from the Duisberg area.
